Due to the incumbent’s retirement, Care Dimensions is seeking a Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer for this not-for-profit hospice and palliative care organization serving 90 communities throughout the North Shore, Greater Boston and Metro West. We seek a forward-thinking HR professional already serving at the vice president level. This opportunity to serve in a mission-driven organization will provide both extrinsic and intrinsic rewards.

This position reports to the newly appointed CEO, who sees HR as integral to the organization’s success. Care Dimensions, founded in 1978, continues to growth and innovate; has operating revenue of $60 million and employs over 500 employees and 450 trained volunteers.
The VP & CHRO is a member of the Executive Team and has significant responsibility as driver for the organization’s culture and people strategies, policies and programs; all in support of the organization’s short and long-term business initiatives. The VP & CHRO serves as the staff liaison to the HR and Compensation Committees of the Board and is a member of the Employee Retirement Plan Committee.
Serving as a strategic and tactical business partner, the CHRO, with a well-functioning HR team, will lead effective change management, define and implement continued scalable and technology-driven solutions in this healthcare and field based environment. The ability to influence and partner with leaders across the organization to secure Care Dimensions’ identity as an employer of choice; to define and utilize best practices and leverage data to enhance recruitment and diversity, engagement and retention will be measures of success.
HR functional responsibilities include recruitment, compensation and benefits, employee relations, HR-related compliance, employment & benefits regulations, performance management, human resources information system (HRIS), retention and rewards, HR policies and practices, employee communications, employee learning and development, employee events, occupational wellness (safety and security), and overall talent management.
Additionally, this position has management oversight of the Occupational Health function (workers comp& leaves of absences) and the Volunteer Services Department.
Bachelor’s Degree. Master’s degree with concentration in human resources, labor/human relations or management strongly preferred. Professional certification at SPHR level preferred. Minimum of ten years of progressively responsible and well-rounded experience in human resources management (including VP level); experience in a health care environment preferred. Prior experience serving as a partner to executive management.
Demonstrated track record of leading an HR organization within a multiple sites and field-based employees. Prior experience in change management initiatives, preferably in a 750 plus employee organization.
Demonstrated ability to establish positive relationships and work effectively with all internal and external constituencies, including employees, volunteers, donors, community leaders and board members. An excellent facilitator experienced in effective conflict management.
Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and maintain a flexible work schedule to meet various demands of concurrent multiple projects.
Proven leadership skills and ability to establish credibility throughout the organization with management and employees, as well as to maintain a visible leadership role in appropriate industry, community and business organizations.
