Director, Laboratory Emory University Hospital Midtown
Emory Healthcare is recruiting for an experienced Administrative Director for Laboratory Services at Emory University Hospital Midtown, a 511-bed teaching facility in Atlanta, GA.
The Director will provide operational leadership for a specific area of responsibility, with 24-hour responsibility for the area's clinical and resource management. As such, the Director plans, organizes, and delineates duties and responsibilities of the technical and support personnel under the direction of and in cooperation with hospital administration and the medical directors.
The Director is responsible for medical laboratory policies, objectives, compliance, quality assurance, and financial and operational management for laboratory services for the 511-bed acute care facility, four geographically separate infusion laboratories, and planning and opening a new specialty laboratory in Smyrna, GA.
The position oversees approximately 120 FTEs, a $25M annual budget, and performance of 2M billable procedures. The position also works in conjunction with the Laboratory Vice President and collaborates with fellow Laboratory Directors.
Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a chemical, physical, or biological science is required.
A Master's degree and business administration background is preferred.
A minimum of five (5) years progressive management experience with at least ten (10) years in the field is required, Fifteen (15) years in the field preferred.
Certification by one of the following accreditation agencies: MT (ASCP), or categorical MLS (ASCP), MT (HEW), MT (HHS), MT (AMT), MT (NCA), HTL (ASCP).
