The Assistant Director of Revenue Cycle is responsible for leading the accounts receivable, collections, and refunds to optimize the successful management of the revenue cycle process. The emphasis will be on the timely and efficient capture, management and delivery of collections from patients and government/commercial insurance revenue. This position is responsible for the business analyst function related to the revenue cycle including the development and evaluation of business metrics and performance reports.
Assistant Director of Revenue Cycle Responsibilities:
Review appropriate valuation of patient receivables on a monthly basis along with calculation of allowance for doubtful accounts and supporting documentation
Responsible for monitoring current and emerging reimbursement issues, regulations and reporting requirements affecting the company.
Performs business and strategic analysis to support decision-making at both facility and system levels upon request using data from a variety of sources
Develops and monitors strategies which ensure the short and long-term financial viability of the organization.
Fosters a strong internal control and compliance environment within the business. Key areas include controls over revenue recognition, receivables management, billing and contract management.
Provides strong leadership, team building and role modeling to all staff.
Ensures A/R and Refunds teams are fully staffed, trained and appropriately organized to support business needs.
Creates and maintains a structure which ensures that financial plans approved by the Executive Committee are managed.
Liaise with clinical sites to resolve issues and outstanding problems in the area of A/R management and revenue cycle process.
Assistant Director of Revenue Cycle Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Healthcare Administration, business or other related field or equivalent required.
Seven years of management experience with progressive experience in medical billing, credentialing, and personnel management.
Experience in the revenue cycle management of a multi-site healthcare delivery system including ambulatory surgical centers strongly preferred.
A successful track record of collaborative leadership of a management team to achieve strategic objectives as well as to ensure quality services and compliance with relevant contractual and regulatory requirements.
Superior leadership, problem solving, team building, and decision making skills.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Must maintain professionalism in the face of a crisis or perceived personal attack.
Proficient computer software and database skills.
Strong math and analytical skills.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, high volume environment.
