Directs the St. Frances Cabrini and Shreveport-Bossier Health System's daily operations, in order to maintain appropriate work flow. Directs staff and activities in areas such as filing, record processing, abstracting/coding, correspondence, R.O.I. and transcription. Coordinates the training of new employees and conducts in-service for current staff on new and revised procedures. Maintain current status on coding function, serving as relief coder. Communicate with physician's offices regarding incomplete record status. Participate in departmental quality improvement activities. Conducts monthly staff meetings with educational and other required components. Maintain staffing schedule of vacations, and maintain payroll on a bi-weekly basis. Perform or sign off all staff performance evaluations, and maintain policy and procedure manual. Complete capital and operating budget requests, and assure compliance with safety and infection control policies. Maintain inter- and intra-departmental communication flow to assure appropriate and timely completion of Medical Records.
Graduate of American Health Information Association (AHIMA) approved program for Registered Health Information Administrators or Technicians. Must have successfully passed the National Board for RHIA, or RHIT.
