The General Manager is responsible for the strategy and overall management of the Satellite Applied Pragmatic Clinical Research (APCR) department. This includes developing, pursuing, and management of current and new internal and external research relationship opportunities for Satellite. The General Manager, in partnership with the medical director, leads the development and management of the Satellite Research Committee. The General Manager is the primary external facing representative of Satellite Applied Pragmatic Clinical Research.

Develop strategic plan by studying research opportunities, presenting assumptions, and recommending objectives to expand Satellite's APCR department
Leads the development and management of the Satellite Research Committee whose responsibilities include review of applied pragmatic clinical research for merit and applicability for Satellite funding/partnership within the verticals of the Satellite APCR Research Network
Engage key thought leaders, cultivate strong relationships, and recruit external members for the Research Committee
Manage the evaluation, prioritization, and selection processes of APCR applications by the Research Committee within the Satellite Applied Research Network
Plan the Satellite APCR Meeting, gather the research Committee for the meeting, and facilitate discussion and evaluation of APCR applications for Satellite funding/partnership by the Research Committee; promote the Satellite APCR Research Network externally and advertise for Applied Pragmatic Clinical Research applications
Accomplish objectives of the overall strategic Applied Research Plan, propose amendments to such Plan, establish budget, allocate resources, review progress, and make mid-course corrections
Represent Satellite Research and act on their behalf to educate on APCR, present Satellite Research and discuss potential research collaborations before academic institutions, large physician groups, health systems and hospitals, other dialysis organizations, nephrologists, and members of the Research Committee
Lead external discussions, negotiations, and education to cultivate strong relationships within the Satellite Applied Research Network
Report to senior management and the Board of Directors about research executed with partners at academic institutions, large physician groups, health systems and hospitals, other dialysis organizations, and nephrologists in research; present research projects for annual reports and financial statements, annual budgets, and other activities to the Board of Directors for approval
Negotiate, enter into, amend, terminate or settle contracts, agreements and commitments within the realm of Satellite Research; increase management's effectiveness by managing Research staff
Responsible for driving the Satellite Healthcare culture through values and customer service standards
Accountable for outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers
Develops and maintains effective relationships through effective and timely communication
Takes initiative and action to respond, resolve and follow up regarding customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner
Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying
Education: Master's degree in Business Administration; Medical degree (preferred)
Experience: Five (5) years of experience in clinical research and operational experience in the healthcare industry
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of dialysis, dialysis providers and nephrology research
Able to build relationships, market and sell ideas; able to cultivate strong long term relationships with key external leaders
Demonstrated leadership skills by building a motivated, high performing team
Able to proactively seek unconventional opportunities to contribute to growth and development
Ability to negotiate with contractors, present to employees, as well as senior leadership
Able to read, write, speak, understand and satisfactorily communicate with others in English in person, over the phone and via email
