The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute (OSUCCC-James) and The Ohio State University College of Nursing (OSU CON) invite applications for the leadership role of Director of Nursing Research. We are seeking an experienced nurse researcher who has made contributions to oncology and nursing research.
The OSUCCC-James is committed to providing the community/region it serves with high quality services in cancer detection, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and survivorship as one of the nation’s 11 free-standing “cancer only” hospitals which, with 308 beds, is one of the largest PPS-exempt hospitals in the United States (2900+ FTEs). As an NCI-designated Cancer program, the OSUCCC-James encompasses over 350,000 outpatient and clinic patient visits, more than 12,500 hospital admissions and over 9,000 surgeries per year. The Director of Nursing Research will oversee all nursing research professional practice roles in The James and will collaborate with the OSU CON’s 114 faculty members and the student population.
The Director of Nursing Research will promote and enhance both nursing and transdisciplinary research activities at The OSUCCC-James and the OSU College of Nursing. This individual will develop and foster research opportunities for faculty, clinicians and students, consistent with the strategic plan for the OSUCCC-James and the OSU CON. The primary focus of the individual holding this position is to mentor nursing staff to conduct research as well as to mentor pre- and post-doctoral fellows. It is also expected that this person will participate in the translational research and dissemination core of the new Fuld National Institute of EBP that is housed in the College of Nursing. The Director of Nursing Research is a member of the OSUCCC-James senior nursing leadership team and, as such, contributes to the development and execution of the organization’s mission, vision, values and strategic plan. This senior nursing leader will be responsible for providing vision, strategic direction and leadership for nursing research to the OSUCC-James community of nurses. He/She will also be a member of the faculty at the OSU CON.

Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate will hold a PhD in nursing and curriculum vitae that demonstrates progressive contribution to the body of oncology nursing research and experience working in an academic medical center. Other desired qualities include a commitment to diversity, interprofessional education and collaboration with other health disciplines, and the ability to mentor clinical nurses as well as students at all levels.
