This position manages the throughput of all areas, First Case on-time start, Tissue Management, turnover time in Surgical Services, supply coordination with materials management, coordination of equipment, and coordination of schedule.
Responsible for department support staff to include Sterile Processing, Schedulers, Charge Processors, Clerical Staff, EVS staff in Surgical Services, Anesthesia Techs, and Surgical Attendants/PCAs.
Accountable for the operational processes in the department. Provides guidance and support to nursing, sterile processing, and anesthesiology in collaboration with nursing leadership.
Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.

Department/Business Unit Management:
Oversees Surgical Services billing processes/staff. Monitors billing/charging functions within the department to ensure corporate compliance.
Coordinates participation and success in regularly scheduled supply inventory in conjunction with Materials Management
Manages implant (tissue tracking) services, personnel, and vendor relations in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
Collaborates, integrates, and communicates to all team members providing optimal efficiency of daily operations in running the Surgery board
Assumes 24-hour accountability, authority, and responsibility for the financial, equipment, information technology and scheduling, for Surgery Services
Demonstrates dedication to meeting the expectations and requirement of internal and external customers; gets first hand customer information and uses it for improvement in service; talks and acts with customer in mind; establishes and maintains effective relationship with customers; role models Studer Principles and ï¿½must havesï¿½.
Oversees the training and management of staff
Coordinates the loaning and repair of equipment
Serves as Lean Project coordinator for Surgical Services.

RN ï¿½ Bachelors degree in Nursing
Non RN - Bachelorï¿½s Degree from accredited college or university in Healthcare Administration, Business or other healthcare related field, or appropriate work related experience
Masters degree in Healthcare Administration, Business or other healthcare related field
Must have clinical experience in the OR as either an RN or Scrub Tech
5 years in a management role in acute care hospital
Preferred Experience: Background in Operating Room and/or Supply Management
Preferred - International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) Certification; Lean Six Sigma Certification
