Identify and implement opportunities to apply mathematical and/or statistical modeling and other optimizing methods to improve business performance, generate new ideas, and influence business leaders with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions. Frequently concentrates on collecting and analyzing test and control data and develops operational decision recommendations. May develop and supply optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for evaluation, review, or implementation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following. Others may be assigned.
Perform statistical analysis, build predictive models, and formulate decision models that relate operational activities to financial results.
Provide sophisticated data interpretation, compilation and verification to guide departmental efforts.
Prepare charts, illustrations, and other graphics and narrative reports to identify and explain patterns and trends.
Lead operations research projects and guide other operations research analysts through their projects.
Design, conduct, and evaluate champion/challenger experiments within Operations, measure the cost/benefit, and recommend operational changes.
Provide guidance to peers, internal customers and other team members around statistical analysis and optimization through casual interactions.
Collaborate with others in the organization to ensure successful implementation of chosen problem solutions.
Expected to contribute data driven decisions that materially reduce Coniferï¿½s operating expense, increase Coniferï¿½s revenue, or both.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

Demonstrated knowledge of operations research and/or statistical modeling concepts.
Has excellent communication, customer service, analytical, project management and time-management skills.
Has good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with other team members and customers.
Has intermediate business knowledge, the ability to understand operations goals and initiatives, and leveraging mathematical and/or statistical tools to assist in achieving those goals and initiatives.
Has proven experience with regression methodologies, and tree-based models such as CHAID, CART, etc. using statistical and/or data mining software packages such as SPSS, SAS, R-Project or proven experience with building decision models using operations research methodologies in Excel, Lindo, ARENA, Promodel, @Risk, SAS or similar software packages. Experience with modeling using VBA is a plus.
Has proven experience in idea development and taking initiatives.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience required to perform the job.
BA/BS, MA/MS, or PhD from a leading program in Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or a related field and/or work experience in related fields.
