Provides management leadership to the HIM Dept in the absence of the Associate Director and the Regional VP. Prepares and monitors payroll in the absence of the associate Director. Represents HIM on the SVH PIRT Team. Manages all Health Information Management functions at one of the Hospitalï¿½s Satellite Campuses. Trains new employees. Directs employeesï¿½ work activities to maximize productivity. Monitors quality of work. Monitors budget, ensures that budget expectations for the Main File activities are met; participates in preparation of annual budget. Prepares schedules to ensure coverage of functions. Conducts performance appraisals & disciplinary procedures. Performs retrieval, chart control and data corrections functions. Performs medical record review functions including abstracting and preparation of reports.
High School education or equivalent.
Knowledge of Medical Terminology required.
Associate degree in Health Information Management preferred. Able to read, write and speak English.
A minimum of 5 Years of experience working in a Health Information Department, with some experience in a supervisory and/or budgeting role preferred. Experience in operating PCs and software programs with full proficiency.
