JOB TITLE: Director, Finance North Central Region LOCATION: Geisinger Medical Center Hospital - Danville, PA DEPARTMENT:Finance WORK SCHEDULE: Days WORK TYPE: Full Time
JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the CFO, the Director is primarily responsible for supervision and coordination of activities in the finance department. Designs, implements and maintains financial systems, policy and procedures. Acts as an assistant to the CFO with responsibility for the books and records of the organization (accounting and statistical records); preparation of financial statements and reports; financial planning budgeting and forecasting; decision support; reimbursement; and accounts receivable.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Demonstrates full knowledge of financial systems with the ability to formulate policy and procedures. Constant decision making that requires above average judgment. Demonstrates ability to manage multiple projects and deliver within specific timeframes. Must have the oral and written communication skills to work and communicate well with all levels of management both inside and outside the financial services division.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required. Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Health Administration and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred. Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association desirable.
Seven (7) to ten (10) years accounting experience of which three (3) to five (5) years should be in a position of supervisory responsibility. Four (4) to six (6) years of directly related experience in the healthcare field or in the public accounting field performing audits for healthcare institutions or intermediaries.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is typically performed in an office environment.
