The Center for Organizational Readiness and Educations (CORE), a department within UCLA Health’s Human Resources, seeks a Senior Training Specialist whose talent for designing and delivering trainings rivals their passion for supporting the functional and technical development of UCLA Health 20,000 employees. The Senior Training Specialist in CORE is a seasoned individual contributor and fantastic team member who is comfortable delivering virtual, in-person, off the shelf training programs.
Reporting to the Sr Director of Organizational Development and Learning, the successful candidate will bring to UCLA Health the best and most innovative examples of learning and development practices in both training design and delivery, as well as the facilitation of a variety of performance-based learning events.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Work with Sr Director to define and execute UCLA Health’s learning and development strategies, to support organization’s performance excellence and service culture.
Ensure participants are well trained and positioned to use knowledge, materials, and tools provided.
Collaborate with Instructional Designer and other trainers to develop new learning materials.
Build relationships with business leaders and functional groups to understand training needs.
Provide train the trainer trainings as required by business needs.
Monitor quality and effectiveness of trainings to ensure alignment with UCLA Health excellence.
Collaborates with departments across UCLA Health to look for synergies around learning strategies.
Recommend or develop processes and practices within the learning and development function.
Ten years of progressive responsibility in creating learning and development modalities.
Strong knowledge of learning and development methodologies; formal design and development approaches, adult learning best practices, and industry training technologies used to deploy, maintain, and monitor learning.
In-depth knowledge of training techniques and practices to drive enhanced skills to improve performance.
Exceptional presentation, consensus-building, and people skills
Strong analytic skills and the ability to translate complicated data and/or concepts into usable information that can be relayed in a clear fashion
Advanced ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
Preference given to Camtasia and Storyline development experience
Master’s degree in human resource management, psychology, organizational development leadership, or healthcare management preferred
Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CLCP)
Certified Performance Technologist (CPT)
Certified Development Dimensions International, Inc. (DDI) Facilitator
Certified Situational Leadership®: Building Leaders Facilitator
Certified Life Orientations (LIFO) Facilitator
Certified DiSC Facilitator
Certified MBTI Practitioner
Certified International Coach Federation (ICF) Coach
Other certifications in e-learning development, instructional design, process improvement, psychological methods or similar
