This position is responsible for providing exemplary service to the patients and visitors of Foundation Health Partners. It is the responsibility of Guest Services to ensure patients and visitors are treated in a professional and courteous manner, and to ensure all patients and visitors receive an excellent guest experience. Guest Services Reps are responsible for making that valuable positive first impression. Position responsibilities are customer centric, and will also include patient transports throughout the facility. On occasion, administrative and clerical work will also be required.
Ensures outstanding customer service by greeting and acknowledging every patient, visitor and co-worker as they enter and exit our facilities. Takes ownership by anticipating and responding to all patient and visitor needs. Communicates courtesy and respect and all times. Takes personal pride in a professional appearance by wearing and keeping the Guest Service uniform neat and clean.
Transports patients safely and efficiently between various departments following appropriate transfer techniques and proper isolation/infection control procedures. Assists with patient handling and lifting using appropriate patient safety equipment and procedures. Validates patients identity based on established department protocol. Remains alert to patient condition and promptly communicates changes to clinical staff.
Provides distribution services of requested items between various departments as needed, and in accordance with established procedures. Item distribution may include medications.
Responds to all job calls in a timely manner. May utilize computer systems to track and update requests.Communicates status updates and location information as required, and helps facilitate work flow in accordance with department protocols.
Collects, cleans and disinfects patient care equipment and all other reusable items.
May perform supply restocking or assume clerical duties of assigned area as necessary.
Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ENVIRONMENT FACTORS
DP - Typical Direct Patient Care environment: (Nutrition Rep, Chaplain, RN)
Able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently.
Possess physical agility and adequate reaction time to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected patient care needs.
Needs adequate hearing and visual acuity, including adequate color vision.
Requires fine motor skills, adequate eye-hand coordination, and ability to grasp and handle objects.
Able to use proper body mechanics to assist patients in ambulating, transferring in and out of bed, chair or wheelchair.
May be required to lift up to 75 pounds.
Must use standard precautions due to threat of exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone.
May require periodic use of personal computer.
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. BLS certification required upon hire.
Requires the physical ability to stand for long periods of time.
Requires interpersonal skills to operate in a direct patient contact environment. Ability to interpret verbal and written information/instructions and effectively communicate with others. Must demonstrate basic knowledge of computer skills, organizational skills, problem solving skills, and ability to function with minimal direction in a fast paced environment.
Six months previous healthcare or customer service experience preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
