Desert Regional Medical Center is a 385 bed acute-care hospital classified as a stroke receiving center and level 2 trauma facility with an innovative, patient centered and evidence-based Rehabilitation Services Department. This role provides leadership and support to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) responsible for all nursing and other designated patient care functions/services within the hospital organization. The role will assume responsibility for assisting in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating nursing practice on a facility level. Role assumes 24/7 responsibility in CNOï¿½s absence. The role is accountable to support CNO to ensure high quality, safe and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and appropriate resource management related to patient care.
ï¿½Active and current CA registered nurse license
ï¿½Academic degree in nursing required (Bachelors or Masters degree)
ï¿½Masters degree in Nursing or related field required (Health Administration, Business, Public Health, or management)
ï¿½2 Years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a director of multiple, complex nursing departments
ï¿½Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills
ï¿½Proven leadership ability and hospital operational expertise
ï¿½Ability to serve as role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing
