The Medical Staff Director provides administrative direction for the Medical Staff, Administration team, and Board.
Medical Staff Governance
Oversee the governance of the medical staff through (1) scheduling, managing, and facilitiating medical staff committee meetings and functions; (2) understanding and enforcing the medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, and policies; and (3) training and supporting the medical staff officers and committee chairs in their responsibilities and duties.
Compliance and Quality
Ensure compliance and quality of medical staff maintained through (1) provider credentialing; (2) appropriate granting of privileges; (3) peer review activities including provider OPPE and FPPE, committee quality indicator reports review, and chart review; (4) telemedicine provider file maintenance.
Create and preserve according to policy (1) meeting materials and minutes; (2) committee composition and attendance; (3) provider files; and (4) quality reports.
Oversee business within the Medical Staff Officer department, including creating and maintaining the budget, approving expenses, managing vendor relations and contracts, and providing employee oversight.
Ensure timely and accurate publication of the daily physician on-call schedule
Oversee Pediatric Hospitalist group schedule, training, and activities
Process requests for residents, medical students, and physician job shadows and ensure student compliance
Oversee the Gritman CME program
Cultivate productive relationships with members of the medical staff and partners
Address interdepartmental physician/provider questions and concerns
Adults of all genders, race, ethnic, sociopolitical, demographic, marital and sexual preferance groups, developmental and physical abilities, religions, and nationalities.
Occasional lifting/carrying of supplies and equipment weighing up to 15 pounds.
Occasional pushing/pulling of equipment and filing cabinet drawers weighing up to 15 pounds.
Occasional climbing of stairs to other levels of the building.
Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching to access documents and supplies in lower cabinets.
Frequent reaching, handling, and fingering to complete paperwork, to use the telephone and computer
Talking, hearing, and seeing to interact with Medical Staff, Allied Health Professional Staff and hospital staff.
Minimal risk of injury due to proximity of moving parts on office equipment and funishings; Minimal exposure to biohazardous materials.
Minimum Work Experience
Three (3) to Five (5) years of prior medical office experience, preferred.
Working knowledge of The Joint Commission and CMS Standards
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Strong interpersonal skills
Good written communication skills
Ability to compose materials for publication and correspondence
