The Audie Murphy VA Emergency Department (ED) provides care to approximately 42, 000 visiting veterans per year. The ED is comprised of a 15-bed unit with 5 Fast Track beds. The goal of the department is to provide critical care to the veterans along with supporting patient safety and promoting quality, cost saving and cutting-edge nursing practices. The Emergency Department serves veterans with a variety of health care needs from STEMI and Stroke care to numerous health conditions to include and not limited to cardiac, respiratory, and mental health. The ED is currently accepting applications for a Staff Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The RN will be part a dynamic and innovative Emergency Department team. The successful incumbent must demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced critical care environment while being able to show proficiency in clinical skills, communication skills, and maintain a professional attitude. As the Emergency Department RN, the successful candidate should have knowledge in or pursuing a National Certification, Certification in Process improvement, and have recent ED experience. Work Schedule: Rotating tour of duty. The shift varies as the needs of the veteran care and ED flow determine. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
