The Caregiver Support Coordinator (CSC) provides leadership and guidance for the development of the caregiver support program at the facility level; clinical evidence based services and interventions for the caregiver and Veteran; education and consultation for the caregiver, Veteran, and staff on caregiver issues; community outreach; resource development; continuous quality improvement activities; and the evaluation of caregiver issues. Responsibilities include but not limited to: Establishes and maintains an ongoing education program for Veterans, caregivers, community agencies, students, and staff to facilitate understanding of clinical practice guidelines, mental health issues, readjustment issues and psychosocial issues facing caregivers. Develops and facilitates CSP-program focused direction, orientation, coaching, in-service training, staff development, and continuing education programs for VA facility staff and the community. Coordinates program implementation with multiple clinical services across all campus locations within the VA facility, including but not limited to: nursing, social work, physical, occupational, and speech therapists; mental health and primary care providers. Provides clinical interventions to the Veteran and caregiver populations served by the programs. Serves as a liaison to Veterans Integrated Service Network Program (VISN) CSP Program and the VA Central Office (VACO) Program. Identifies unmet needs of the caregiver population, their families/significant others and caregivers. Works collaboratively with facility, VISN, and VA Central Office staff to develop and implement solutions-participating in national, regional, and VISN operational calls; contributing to national leadership council committees; and implementing cultural transformation initiatives (e.g., Elizabeth Dole Foundation's Campaign for Inclusive Care (CIC), the Rosalyn Carter Institute). Performs the administrative and personnel management functions relative to staff supervised, including personnel actions, clinical supervision, consultation, negotiation with other departments, and quality improvement. Works collaboratively with internal staff, VISN and VACO leadership, and external stakeholders to expedite service delivery. Provides consultation and briefings to other staff and internal/external stakeholders on the special needs of caregivers. Monitors performance measures at the local, VISN, and Central Office levels; providing responses to congressional inquiries; and briefings to providers, VA leadership, community organizations and other internal and external stakeholders. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Pay: Competitive salary, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: Annual leave at the rate of eight (8) hours per biweekly pay period; Sick leave at the rate of four (4) hours per biweekly pay period; 10 paid Federal holidays per year. Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years' vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement).
