The Registered Nurse provides ongoing evaluation of care management service in the Dermatology Clinic. The RN will be located at the Richmond Veterans Medical Center. The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for the provision of direct patient care for the delivery of quality nursing care to a diverse Veteran patient population. Completes patient initial assessments and reassessments of condition for response to treatment Develops and implements a plan to meet patients needs Promotes discharge planning and continued care through developing and individualized patient plan of care while collaborating with family and health care team Provides considerate care, respecting patients personal values and cultural belief system Establishes patient care priorities to ensure safe and effective patient care Administers medication in accordance with established procedures/policy Preforms safe work practices appropriate for the position, e.g., how to report a safety hazard, proper body mechanics, or use of personal protective equipment Provides appropriate care to the age related needs or patients Administers prescribed therapies utilizing appropriate judgement Evaluates other staff against standards of practice and regulations to improve compliance Functions as the Charge Nurse, Team Leader role guiding and directing others who provide patient care RN Salary Range: Candidates education and length of nursing practice (experience) will be considered by a Nurse Professional Standards Board in determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected.
