Current VA Employees should include most current SF-50. The Registered Nurse(Specialty Clinic) is assigned to a unit or section with/in the Nursing Section. The unit or section description and patient population served is defined in applicable Scope of Service. The incumbent practices in a complex patient care setting in collaboration with colleagues and Nurse Manager. The Specialty Care Clinic Registered Nurse is a professional who provides high-quality, evidence-based care for Veteran patients who are cared for in the Specialty Clinics setting. They will demonstrate ICARE values when providing patient care and interacting with the interdisciplinary team. He/she will perform but not limited to assessment, manage clinic flow, and performs dermatologic procedures, assisting for procedures and minor surgeries. The RN will demonstrate ability to promote a safe environment for all patients including those with altered sensorium due to medication or an acute or chronic illness. RNs are to document using appropriate forms, follow protocols, Nursing Service Memorandums (NSMs) and guidelines, adhere to policies and evaluate resources. The RN effectively implements patient activities towards health promotion and disease prevention, assisting the Veteran in attainment of optimal levels of function through Motivational Interviewing, direct and/or indirect care, rehabilitation, as well as provision of supportive measures. The nurse's primary commitment is to the patient/resident, whether an individual, family, group, or community (ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses). Work Schedule: 8 hour shifts (day); Monday through Friday. Hours may change based on the needs of the service.
