This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. Practice is enhanced through development of collegial relationships. The following position is a staff Nurse in the (BVAC) Substance abuse and mental health unit 10C. The incumbent Registered Nurse will be cross-trained to float in the following areas: Unit 10C Vivitrol and Deaconate clinic Buprenorphine Clinic Mental Health clinic Homeless Clinic Psychosocial Rehabilitation and recovery center ( PRRC) Mental Health Intensive Case Manager ( MHICM ) Unit 10A Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others (VA Handbook 5005, Part II, Appendix G6), demonstrates collaboration by using the group process to solve problems. The focus is on leadership in strategically planning long term goals for the microsystem (unit, team, or workgroup) that impacts operations or resources. The proficient nurse demonstrates critical thinking with efficiency and accuracy in assessing and managing situations. Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient are. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care based on age-specific components. Assume responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient transition through the continuum of care, patient and family education, patient self-management after discharge, and supporting factors that impact customer satisfaction. Consider all characteristics of the individual, including age and life stages, state of health, race and culture, values, and previous experiences. Administer medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Core elements of performance include knowledge and active participation in unit/ program level quality improvement processes and initiatives as well as customer service programs.
