The Kansas City VA is currently recruiting for an RN to join the Primary Care Department as the Pap Smear Coordinator/Nurse Lead. This position is located at the at the main hospital on Linwood Blvd. The PACT Pap Smear Coordinator / Nurse Lead serves as the Primary Care champion for Women's Health with an emphasis on cervical cancer screening. This position coordinates local PACT implementation, tracking, training, communication, outreach and sustainability of the PACT model related to cervical cancer screening and compliance. The PACT Pap Smear Coordinator plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates the PACT program with the Women's Veteran Program Manager and Primary Care Associate Chief Nurse. The PACT Pap Smear Coordinator / Nurse Lead will incorporate Just Culture and No Harm concepts while promoting the facility's goal to become a High Reliability Organization. These functions involve active promotion of the PACT model among clinical and administrative staff within the Primary Care setting; educating an array of stakeholders; identify/addressing communication workflow challenges, facilitating meetings as needed, troubleshooting the program flow and management of PACT related data surrounding pap smears and other Primary Care processes and work flows.
