It is the primary responsibility of the PBX supervisor to manage the day-to-day operations of the PBX and Physicians Exchange department.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
Mentoring and leading the PBX staff in the effective handling of all incoming calls, inquiries, and requests directed through the 24 hour switchboard and physician's exchange.
Managing the staff schedule, ensuring adequate staff at all times based on call volume trends, in compliance with department budget.
Acting as liaison with clients and hospital departments to ensure proper handling of all calls.
Demonstrated ability to quickly respond to incoming calls through the hospital switchboard and physician's exchange, and to attend to monitors, panic and fire alarms, emergency lines, information phones, biomedical alarms within the department.
Demonstrates proficiency with all PBX/Physicians Exchange computer systems and applications.
Provide culturally competent and emotionally sensitive care to customers calling with divers cultural and language backgrounds.
Tactfully address and efficiently handle complaints when called upon.
Perform the hiring and training, scheduling and budgeting, mentoring and performance evaluation, and marketing and recruitment needs for the PBX/Physician's exchange Department.
