The Registered Nurse (RN) - Occupational Health is accountable to the Associate Chief of Staff. The Registered Nurse (RN) - Occupational Health serves both, the Troy Bowling and Franklin R. Sousley, campuses of the Lexington VA Healthcare System. The Registered Nurse - Occupational Health: Attends new employee orientation to provide an overview of occupational health services. Orders immunization titers for employees. Documents COVID-19 and Influenza vaccines in the Occupational Health Record-Keeping System (OHRS). Screens new employees for tuberculosis and orders Quantiferon testing. Manages blood-borne exposures for the hospital. Meets with employees, during office hours, for health related issues and refers as appropriate. Serves on a variety of occupational health committees such as Infection Control, Facility Flu Committee, Laser Safety Committee, Wellness Committee, and Accident Review Board, etc. Coordinates with the Emergency Department when employees are seen in the ED during off tours. Coordinates the influenza vaccine program for employees and uses a variety of methods to increase employee compliance; aggregates, analyzes, and reports influenza data to appropriate agencies, the VISN, and facility Director.
