This announcement is for an LPN position for the Topeka VAMC - PACT. The Licensed Practical Nurse works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and is responsible for the nursing care provided to the patients present for primary care appointments. The Licensed Practical Nurse will prepare and dispense medications and administer IV fluids and IV medications as ordered. The LPN will give personal and hygienic care as needed and provide assistance with activities of daily living to include moving, lifting, and positioning if needed in clinic. The LPN will take vital signs, do the pre-appointment interview and required health screenings, administer treatments as ordered and assist with administrative duties on the team such as medication reconciliation, patient tracking, and assist with home health and nursing home orders and forms needed. Other duties may be assigned by the Nurse Manager as needed. Occasional coverage of other areas may be rotated. Excellent customer service and communication skills are required. Preferred Experience: PACT, Med/Surg experience preferred; must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and keep on schedule. Some Administrative duties using phone and virtual video interactions are preferred. Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday; 7:30am to 4:00pm or 8:00am to 4:30pm with occasional Saturday coverage by rotation and Saturday on call is covered by rotation.
