The Assistant Nurse Manager for the Outpatient Mental Health is directly responsible and accountable to the Nurse Manager and will work in collaboration to maintain operational control of personnel and equipment. In support of the Nurse Manager you will establish and implement evidence-based nursing standards of practice, and provision of recovery-oriented nursing care. The Assistant Nurse Manager will assist with scheduling, performance improvement activities and accreditation readiness. You will address customer service/patient satisfaction concerns and positive care outcomes. On the unit you will attend to employee relation matters and employee/patient safety concerns. You will maintain quality documentation, communication to and from the unit. Duties include but are not limited to; Staff and program evaluations, collaboration and partnerships within the unit, committees Demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise, leadership, and creative approaches to management of complex care. Assume responsibility and accountability for the day-to-day operation and patient flow. Address patient, visitor, staff concerns. Demonstrate and ensure safety in staff work practices that include adherence to Mental Health Environment of Care, Infection Control standards, use and operation of equipment and safe patient handling principles/practices. Develop and manage collaborative partnership with the Mental Health Interdisciplinary team and other stakeholders. Initiate and lead workgroups in the development of policies, protocols, procedures, and unit guidelines. Develop an environment that fosters Pathway to Excellence, Just Culture, High-Reliability organization, and promotes employee's satisfaction, performance, development. Work as a staff nurse during periods of staffing shortages Distributing time and effort between hands-on direct care (60%) and management administrative functions (40%) Acting Nurse Manager in the absence of the Nurse Manager Preferred Experience: While not a requirement for consideration or selection, applicants with the following preferred education/experience will be considered highly qualified, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Recent Mental Health experience within the last 2-3 years Nursing leadership experience to include Assistant Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, shift or team leader, etc. Such experience must be clearly identifiable in the supporting application documents. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm; rotating shifts as needed in accordance to the needs of the unit; may include weekend and holiday rotation.
