We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the Vice President Physician Services position at AdventHealth Mid-America Region located in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.

The Vice President of Physician Services provides executive leadership over the Mid-America Region Physician Enterprise. This executive is responsible for creating a culture of operational excellence. He/she participates in the creation of the region-wide strategic plan with the VP of Physician Network and leads strategic planning for the physician enterprise as well as all physician recruiting, practice acquisitions and retention strategies. Much time will be devoted to physician relations and contract negotiations, physician service line fiscal and operations management, physician service line revenue integrity, physician service line growth and development. Providing a sound culture of compliance and regulatory support throughout the physician practices is essential to success in this role. This position requires demonstrated leadership in medical staff culture development, physician network alignment and loyalty.
Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for overall performance of AdventHealth Medical Group Shawnee Mission
Exemplifies AdventHealth’s mission, values, and goals of the organization
Ensures regulatory readiness of Physician Services including but not limited to Joint Commission, CMS, and OSHA
Mindful of relationships with physicians to increase business volume
Works with the VP of Physician Network and stakeholders to create a 3 to 5-year strategic plan for Physician Services
Provides direction of physicians regarding the mission and the goal of profitability in each practice
Provides direction and expectations for the supervision of Physician Services for day-to-day operations
Reviews financial statements each month and institutes change which will enable practices to be profitable
Evaluates, interviews, and hires qualified physicians who will support the mission of the Mid-America Region and the goal of profitability
Negotiates contracts with new physicians and renewals with existing physicians as appropriate
Develops and implements plans for meeting the medical needs of the community
Develops capital and expense budgets which support growth and profitability
Responsible for driving Press Ganey performance, CG-CHAPS performance, employee engagement, and physician engagement
Serves as quality champion for Physician Services, driving HEDIS, PQRS, MIPS, MACRA, MSSP and other ACO measures, seeking top quartile performance in all quality indicators in Physician Services.
Sets high standards and sets performance standards through open communication with team members.
Works with Materials Management leaders to obtain lowest cost, quality medical supplies and equipment for Physician Services.
Attends facility and regional leadership meetings as requested.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Thorough knowledge of operations of system-sponsored, multi-specialty physician network.
Ability to handle a multiple tasks and projects at on time.
Thorough knowledge of physician group operations.
Must possess an understanding of the operation of hospital service lines and physician practices.
Proven ability to organize workflow and communicate effectively to all levels of leadership and motivate team members.
Understanding of physician connectivity within the Health System.
Strong written and oral communication skills and ability to tailor message to appropriate audience.
Ability to create and deliver clear, succinct presentations.
Ability to build, educate and mentor high performing teams.
Proven ability to improve operational and financial performance while engaging physicians and teams.
Successful performance in highly matrixed organization.
Education and Experience Required:
Master's degree in Health or Business Administration (MBA/MHA)
Minimum of 5 years in a progressive leadership role within a medical group
