About the role:
The Director of Medical Informatics is a professional who is responsible for initiating programmatic integration of clinical strategies throughout the enterprise of Premise Health service lines, working across multiple disciplines and with persons at all levels to identify solutions that are integrated into IT development such as: process improvement, reporting requirements (proactive clinical, operational, and site level reports), and supporting new organizational initiatives. The Director of Medical Informatics is responsible for the for analytic quantification of Clinical Programs from a financial, operational, and clinical value proposition.
This role will also be responsible for collaborating with our medical operations team members and leaders as well as building and testing within a variety of reporting platforms and electronic health records. In addition, they will develop process-oriented solutions to drive execution of the programmatic value proposition for various existing clinical programs as well as support net new growth strategies. This position will also assist in the development, refinement, and execution of detailed Medical Operations project plans.
Job Requirements:
- Identify and evaluate current processes and functionality within the EMR to drive improved efficiency and usability for clinic users
- Supports reporting design and development of trackable EMR data inputs and outputs to include EMR enhancement recommendations and design
- Strategic leader on data integration and visualization related to medical operations programs and return on investment, clinical effectiveness, and optimization
- Provide consultation during EMR development and design.
- Creates an environment of clear accountability for site leadership and takes accountability for his/her own results
- Provides thought leadership and maintains awareness of industry trends for member health management, ongoing development/management of quantitative and qualitative analysis, development of interventions, outcomes measurement and reporting.
- Organize workgroups, meetings, and/or individual communications to ensure a practical, cohesive strategy
- Liaison between medical informatics and pharmacy related to program strategy and client implementation needs.
- Conducts or participates in conference calls on a regular basis and effectively communicates weekly project status and timeline updates
- Drives integration and optimization across products, disciplines, and lines of service
- Support Medical Operations, Sales, Reporting, Procurement, Credentialing, Clinical Applications Delivery, and other internal teams as needed
Education:
- Licensed in a Health care field (e.g. Nursing, Physician Assistant)
- Bachelor of Science or Masters, preferred
- Project Management or Informatics/IT Certification preferred
Experience:
- 10+ years of clinical technology experience
- 7+ years of clinical experience
- Required 5 years of experience in understanding of electronic health record (EHR) Data and claims data
- At least 3 years of experience in indirect or direct management of team members, including assisting in the development, training and assignment of work/projects to other team members.
- Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop clinical strategies that meet both client and divisional integration goals within budget(s) and established timelines.
- Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of clinical pharmacy programs.
- Experience working in a virtual environment preferred.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent articulation skills and ability to communicate complex health/medical principles and procedures in simple layman???s language
- Ability to analyze data to drive clinical and operational improvement
- Ability to create process flows to improve efficiency and adherence to corporate policies and government regulations
- Functional use of Microsoft Office Suite and web-based programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Knowledge of EPIC preferred, but electronic health record experience including population health, clinical decision support, and analytics.
- Knowledge of relational databases
- Experience in writing queries in Microsoft SQL
