The Registered Nurse on the Adult Inpatient Medicine unit will apply the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning. The RN will effectively communicate pertinent patient/family information to the health care team and collaborate in establishing patient goals and evaluates progress to ensure effective outcomes
There is a $15,000 sign on bonus for all qualified new hires that work full time

The Adult Inpatient Medicine, also known as 3 Round Wing, is located in Medical Center North at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, is fast-paced and focused on acute medicine. 3RW is a 14-bed unit, which cares for adult patients with non-surgical acute medicine conditions.
The mission of the 3RW Medicine is to provide compassionate, quality care that is respectful, patient/family-centered, safe, and cost efficient. Our nurses are able to utilize evidence-based guidelines to provide the highest quality of care. The staff experiences the professional satisfaction that comes with making a difference every day for their patients and families, while expanding their critical care knowledge base and applying critical thinking skills to understand and intervene in the care of their patients.
Our population of patients may include patients with any number of co-morbidities, including neurological, respiratory, cardiac, gastrointestinal, renal, and endocrine medical conditions. All beds are appropriate for continuous bedside sp02 monitoring.
The Management structure of 3RW Medicine consists of the Unit Manager and 2 Clinical Staff Leaders and a Nurse Educator. Each Clinical Staff Leader is responsible for 18-20 staff.
The staff is composed of RN's, Care Partners and Medical Receptionists and RN assignments are determined by patient census and acuity. Normal RN ratios are 5:1.
The weekend program is administered via an annual contract.
Weekends are defined as:
Saturday and Sunday (2 12-hour days or nights) or for a 3-day weekend commitment (3-12 hour shifts for a 36 hours) using either Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the 36 hour comittment or a Saturday, Sunday and Monday committment
Shift Differential payment is:
RN's - $15/hour in addition to any applicable shift differentials already in place - $3 for days $3.50 for nights and M-F and $6 for weekend hours
Shift Structure is either a 12-hour option or an 8-hour option currently for 3 Round Wing:
12-hour shift option
.06 FTE - 24 hours per weekend - Saturday and Sunday; 7a-7p - Currently OPEN
.09 FTE - 36 hours per weekend - Fri-Sun or Sat-Mon; 7a-7p - Currently OPEN
8-hour shift option-available for 24 hours per weekend only
.06 FTE - works Saturday, Sunday and Friday or Monday
