Summary:

Works with Department Manager and Director to ensure the planning, coordination and provision of nursing education is delivered specific to the unit needs. Supervises onboarding, orientation, and competencies of new hires, including RNs, EMT�s, Unit Secretaries, and Monitor Technicians. Promotes the use of best practices in the delivery of patient care. Works collaboratively with leadership to promote professional nursing practice and behavior.

Required: CA Registered Nurse License. American Heart Association BLS, PALS, ACLS, and Crisis Prevention. Minimum two year previous Emergency experience, one of which in a leadership role such as charge RN. Requires excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, planning and follow-through. Ability to exercise the authority and responsibility or assigned services based on the scope of the organization and complexity of patient care. Basic computer skills. BSN required: Master�s degree preferred.

Preferred: Previous charge nurse experience in ED; certification in area of specialty if applicable. Analytical and grammatical skills are necessary to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
