The APP leverages knowledge of urologic and gynecology imaging, treatment plans, and interventions. The APP demonstrates strong leadership, is an excellent communicator, and is effectively able to prioritize a large number of patients. Job Duties: Assesses and evaluates patients, analyzes and interprets data, formulates problem lists and establishes plans for resolution of clinical problems. Obtains medical history and performs general/routine gynecological examinations (speculum, bimanual pelvic examinations and general physical examinations) under indirect supervision of physician, including but not limited to pelvic exam, POP-Q exam, Pap smears, cervical/vaginal cultures. Assists in the OR under direct supervision of the physician and performs office procedures (endometrial biopsy, vulvar biopsy, suturing vaginal tissue, abscess incision and drainage, management of negative pressure dressings, venipuncture, pessary fitting, suture/staple removal). Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic testing such as blood work, radiologist studies (i.e. ultrasound, CT, MRI, x-rays, mammograms, etc.). Supervises and performs urodynamic and anorectal manometry studies. Develops with the patient, caregivers and patient care team, a mutually acceptable cost-aware plan of care that maximizes health potential. Formulates a treatment plan which includes ordering diagnostic tests, selecting appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, identifying educational needs of the patient and family, developing a patient education plan and formulating a discharge/follow-up plan of care. Minimum Qualifications: Masters Degree in Physician Assistant Studies Licensed by the State of Missouri as a Physician Assistant Urogynecology, Women's Health/GYN or Urology experience is preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA) required Proficiency with electronic health records and database management.
