The role you’ll contribute:
The Adventist Health System (AHS) Reconciliation Supervisor oversees a team of Reconciliation Specialists and/or Accountants responsible for various steps in the reconciliation process of cash or accounts receivable. The Supervisor actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
The value that you bring to the team:
Use independent judgement to research discrepancies and propose corrections to the accounting records and identify items needing further research by other parties
Facilitate the resolution of problematic outstanding items in cash and related accounts using all resources available
Communicate with leadership in local accounting teams, patient financial services, physician services, payor organizations, and other relevant parties to ensure timely resolution of exception items
Troubleshoot escalated issues, make decisions, communicate, and escalate as appropriate
Lead efforts to proactively identify process improvement opportunities across various aspects of the reconciliation life cycle
Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of AHS cash posting policies and banking processes to facilitate the reconciliation of outstanding items and make recommendations to CRM leadership for areas of process improvement
Lead training, oversight and supervision of staff members
Lead team to achieve and maintain performance consistent with requirements for productivity, quality, and service levels.
Develop and maintain productive team-oriented relationships, internally and externally, through individual contacts and group meetings
Assist department management by supervising and coordinating the assignments of team members to ensure the proper allocation of resources to complete assigned tasks
Provide effective feedback, coaching, counseling or discipline to employees when needed
Ability to demonstrate solid knowledge and application of generally accepted accounting principles
Develop and review department deliverables for quality and accuracy
Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent degree from a four-year accredited university or college or six years of relevant work experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with a healthcare organization
Familiarity with business concepts, practices, and procedures
