JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a PATIENT SERVICE ASSOCIATE to be an integral part of the patient care team in the clinic and is responsible for patient registration activities including patient identification, demographic and insurance updates, check-in, check-out, point of service collections (deductible, copay, coinsurance and balances), referral and order management, and appointment scheduling according to established policies and procedures.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Preparation for clinic, patient check-in, check out and payment collections; scheduling tests and procedures; managing referrals, work queues, electronic messages and medical record scanning.
Answering telephone; delivering messages to physicians, nurses and others.
Customer service, safety, and work culture.
Perform downtime procedures as necessary for patient check-in and order entry.
Maintain printers, computers and supplies in the work area.
Attend meetings and training sessions.
Comply with all regulatory and compliance policies and processes.
Perform other related clerical duties as assigned by Service Access Manager.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Requires knowledge of basic grammar and mathematical principles normally acquired through high school education.
Minimum of one year of work experience in directly communicating and providing service to patients or public; preferably in a healthcare related field.
Experience in effectively coordinating multiple tasks or activities is required.
JOB HOURS
The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
