The role you’ll contribute:
As a Clinical Educator/Content Expert for the Cath Lab and other invasive areas, your main responsibility is to design, develop and deliver simulation training programs for healthcare professionals caring for pediatric through geriatric patients. You will work closely with the cardiovascular/imaging personnel, assess their learning needs, provide orientation and teaching materials, and evaluate the effectiveness of the training program.
Clinical Educator/Content Expert plays an important role in designing and implementing organized education programs, ensuring that the materials are up-to-date, relevant, and evidence-based. This may involve collaborating with other healthcare professionals across AdventHealth.
Apart from your technical expertise in invasive procedures, the Clinical Educator/Content Expertwill need to possess excellent teaching and communication skills, as well as a passion for helping others learn and grow. Must be able to work collaboratively with diverse teams and demonstrate outstanding customer service in all interactions.
Ultimately, your goal will be to be part of a West Florida Division Cath Lab simulation Team that develops interns for invasive areas. And to help improve the quality of care provided to patients by equipping healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills they need to excel in their roles.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Orients all cardiovascular/imaging personnel to the department and acquires initial required paperwork for new employees; works in collaboration with education department to evaluate and determines learning needs for new employees as well as existing employees; provides teaching and instruction in classroom as well as clinical environments; plans, evaluates and adjusts orientation programs for new employees.
Develops plan, in collaboration with education department for ongoing staff competency and maintains agreed upon competencies for all team members.
Serves as a role model for all cardiology/imaging employees by assisting/providing procedure support and patient care as needed. Coordinates the activities of other staff preceptors and provides consistency in instruction.
Monitors and controls the students/orientees in the lab area to facilitate patient safety and efficient use of personnel. Collaborates with manager to develop accurate and objective employee appraisals.
Develops and maintains an effective working relationship with other departments and vendors, etc. Communicates to the Director, Manager the needs and issues and provides solutions that affect cardiovascular/imaging services efficiency on a daily basis. Provides positive communication to employees, patients and families, the public and outside organizations.
Plans and assists in unit staff meetings, communicating any issues/new equipment, etc. to staff in a positive and timely manner.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited nursing school
MSN or higher
3 years of experience in a cardiac catheterization lab and/or electrophysiology lab
Current FL RN license
BLS and ACLS
One of the below listed certifications:
Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE)
Nursing Professional Development Certification (NPD-BC)
Cardiovascular Nursing Certification (CVRN)
