Schedule: Full Time Days M-F, 9am-5pm, Hybrid Position

The role you’ll contribute:

     The Senior Systems Engineer designs, installs, configures, implements, and supports all aspects of the software environment and/or manages and provides technical guidance and oversight for all aspects of the software process, acting as a point of escalation and technical expert.  Mentors team members.  Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. 

Responsibilities:

·            Provides team guidance and oversight.  Leads team members in complex problem analysis and issue resolution.  Provides technical guidance and oversight.  Mentors team members on best practices, standards, and technology.  Recommends improvements to processes and technology that improve the effectiveness of the team and the infrastructure.

·            Performs monitoring, alerting, reporting, and trending.  Monitors and assists with the proactive identification and resolution of problems.  Assists with the collection of data and establishing facts in order to determine the cause of these problems. 

·            Performs preventative maintenance while providing maximum availability.  This includes patching, updates, and/or configuration changes.

·            Participates in the change control process, as required.

·            Performs advanced troubleshooting and issue resolution.

·            Performs capacity management and budgeting.

·            Performs warranty tracking and maintenance.

·            Ensures the required tasks associated with Business Continuity and/or Disaster Recovery are completed in a timely and thorough manner.

·            Maintains documentation.

If AIX:

·            Sets up and supports backend application.

·            Sets up physical servers including operating system installs, racking, and cabling.

If Backup:

·            Performs data replication (swap, clone, SRDF, recover point).

·            Performs backup and recovery, Tivoli storage manager admin, and data protection manager admin.

If Citrix:

·            Installs user applications on XenApp and XenDesktop, publishes applications, and creates new user groups for applications.

·            Configures active directory group policies and Citrix policies.

·            Designs and constructs Citrix infrastructure.

·            Installs, configures, upgrades, and maintains Citrix Xenserver, Xen Application, Xen Desktop, Provisioning, Licensing, Terminal Servers, NEB interface, Storefront, Edgesight, SmartAuditor, Netscaler (Citrix vpx).

·            Builds and maintains test farm, production farm, and disaster recovery environment.

·            Reviews and evaluates newly released versions of infrastructure components.

·            Builds hardware replacements.

·            Supports vendor and departments in application upgrades.  Tracks Citrix and terminal server licenses.

If Imaging:

·             Leads the design of new imaging systems, utilizing knowledge of business and technical environment.

·             Plans, organizes, and manages all Imaging Information System implementations.

·             Trains end users on existing software and new products.

·             Provides security and maintenance of user profiles.

If Linux:

·            Provisions new servers (virtual) by validating specification, requesting storage if required and deploying the server.

·            Provides preventative maintenance while providing maximum availability of physical (firmware) and virtual servers. This includes new software releases, system upgrades, evaluation and installation of patches resolving related problems.

·            Performs middleware application setup and support for development teams.

·            Performs load balancing management, web app publishing management, and database management
