OverviewThe Coder I, Outpatient is responsible for coding ED records and PET scans. Collects predefined indicators and abstracts information from medical records. Provides timely and accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for reimbursement and specific information for statistical purposes. Remains current with recognized resources - AHA Coding Clinics and CPT Assistant. Codes discharges utilizing the 3M encoder selecting the appropriate APC if applicable for reimbursement.
