Accountabilities:
two 12 hour shifts + two 9 hour shifts + rotating weekends + 2 holiday requirement (1 summer, 1 winter)
- Budget Responsibility: Assists management with maintaining par inventory levels in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Authority/Decision Making: Takes appropriate clinical actions using available resources to achieve positive outcomes for patients, visitors and staff. Independently prioritizes daily tasks and assignments. Identifies and recommends opportunities for improvement in order to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes. Response to urgent and unplanned situations appropriately.
- Problem Solving: Capable of making decisions to ensure patient safety and promote quality patient care.
- Information Management: Utilizes computer systems as required.
- The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Urgent Care practices functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team in providing patient care.
- The RN systematically and continuously collects and assesses data related to patient health status to develop, execute and evaluate the plan of care.
- The RN utilizes evidence to drive clinical decisions and practice related to individual and population health.
- The RN considers factors related to safety and effectiveness in planning and delivering care.
- The Urgent Care RN provides care in accordance with the NJ Nurse Practice Act.
- The Urgent Care RN must successfully pass all required training to obtain security access to perform role, including EMR training, department specific clinical competencies, among others.
- Will have the ability to utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care for patients served.
- Through the model of Shared Governance, collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.
- Must have excellent communication, organization, and computer skills.
- Must have the ability to work in a highly specialized area with a focus on patient safety and efficiency.
Required:
- High School diploma required
- BSN required and ACLS, PALS
- Valid NJ RN License
Preferred
- 1 year of Emergency Department, ED experience
- 3+ years experience working in outpatient or ambulatory setting
- 2+ years in an acute care setting, preferably critical care
- BLS Certification Required after hire
